About us

At Paschall Community Services (PCS), we believe that true vision transcends sight. It’s a profound inner knowledge that empowers us to overcome life’s greatest challenges and transform adversity into opportunity. Our journey began with such a vision, born from the depths of a life-altering tragedy.

Our President and Founder, Jason (Jay) Miller, experienced this firsthand. A devastating gun shooting instantly took his sight, fundamentally altering his perception and his entire world. In the wake of this life-changing event, Jay faced a harsh reality: a severe lack of competent, accessible, modern, and safe housing, along with reliable transportation, accessible education, and independence services specifically designed for the blind and low-vision community.

As Jay navigated these challenges, his personal research illuminated a critical truth: many of these same issues disproportionately affect our senior population. The disheartening statistics became Jay’s everyday reality – especially the glaring gap in housing for the blind, particularly for career-minded individuals and all ages within the blind community. Competent housing, to Jay, means safety, enabling residents to travel and move within their neighborhood, alongside accessibility and convenience. This includes accessible home guides and tactile location identifiers, smart voice-controlled appliances, intuitive temperature control, and seamlesssecurity communication – which are basic PCS unit items for each resident, yet fully customized to create a truly enriching residential experience for the visually impaired.

When dreams become reality, there are always those who believe in the process, for PCS, this person is our Vice President, LaKisha Miller. LaKisha, who was a disability services professional before meeting Jay, added structure, organization and a special skill set when working with “independence and home health services.”  In addition, LaKisha’s technical computer skill set extends past normal sighted persons, as a wife of a blind man, who is an “access technology/computer professional,” she quickly expanded her access technology understanding tremendously. In fact, Vice President LaKisha Miller, is also an access technology computer, and related devices trainer for (Paschall Access Solutions LLC.) our brother organization. Both President & Vice President of PCS have been well seasoned to open the next chapter of modern, accessible residential living!

We invite you to join us on this incredible journey. Your involvement, whether through volunteering, donations, or simply spreading awareness, can help us continue to build a brighter, more accessible future for the blind, low-vision, and senior communities. Together, we can make a difference that truly matters.

“Live your best, accessible life!”
